Last year I went on a low-carb diet and noticed a strange reaction each time I ate something with Splenda in it, after about 10-15 minutes I began to feel like I could not breath properly and ultimately Splenda induced what I can only describe as a panic attack with increased heart-rate, feeling of impending doom, light-headedness. It was really, really scary! It took a few days for me to sort out what was causing this and as soon as I realized it might be the Splenda, I quit immediately.

Unfortunately, not all products are labeled very clearly where I live in Europe and many drinks and medications use Splenda (also called sucralose or E955, so I have had a couple of scary moments when I accidentally ingested something with this product in it.

I'd never take Splenda. I used to eat that like crazy over a year ago! Thankfully I found out the truth. Stevia or raw honey are a much better options or even agave nectar.
