Tom Coghill was born in Britain and immigrated to Canada at 12 years old. He presently resides in the Sagada, Philippines. Tom is the author of several popular books and the owner of several websites that promote natural healing through fasting and healthy living.

His sister Margaret, and his father died of cancer which motivated Tom to press through in seeking a natural treatment of cancer base on the pass successes he had witnessed with juice fasting.  Tom moved to Sagada as it fit his lifestyle.  Fresh mountain air, lots of hiking, low cost of living,  and friendly people created a perfect healthy-living environment.   In his first exploration of the town, he droped int the local hosptial and met Dr. Clare Lalwet.  She had been looking for a holistic progam for the hosptial and had researched on fasting.ws .  To her  surpise, she found the author standing in her office.  An offer was tabled for Tom to direct holistic treatment. Thirty days later the program opened and the first terminal cancer patients entered the program.     So many diseases were cured that the news spread throughout the Philippine and doctors in other cities and countries started to refer patients.  For cancer we used a modified version of the  Bruess Cancer Treatment. For most conditions, a 30 day juice fast was prescribed.  Test were taken and physician monitored the status of patients.  With nonterminal disease there were improvements every few days.  With terminal disease, the protocols became complex.

Working with terminal patients was discovered to be exhausting, frustrating but also profoundly exhilarating and touching.  Dr. Clare who was acting as Chief of Hospital, Chief Medical Doctor, Administrator and Overseer of the Holistic Program decided she wanted to devote her time and energy to holistic medicine and asked for a leave of absence.  Without a physician to monitor the program it was closed.

Tom is now rewriting his books bases on the wealth of knowledge gained at St. Theodore’s and hopes to be able to lay out precise  treatment protocol for hospitals with video and audio support.

For many years Tom Coghill used a pen name, Tom McGregor at his parents request. Constantly in the media due to his lecturing on addiction and health, stating I was a reformed drug addict was thought make his parents look like failures. After his father’s death, he changed back to his family name Tom Coghill to honor his father after he passed on from liver cancer.

Now, Tom focuses on research, organic gardening and encouraging people to fast on the web.  He had a small  fasting and detox retreat in Canada for sever years and had a few people out to the Philippines for a visit or to fast. Mostly he spends his time in web development, site maintenanceand writing.

Before Tom came to the Philippines, He lived seven happy years in Colombia enjoying life to the fullest where he developed an unique art style that was promoted in several prestigious locations. To view Tom’s art.
