  • Doing 15 days of Juice Fasting. Starting February 23, 2011

  • Reasons for Fasting:
    To improve my health and detox. Will do a short fast at first to see how my body likes it.

  • Past Fasting Experience:

  • Present Diet:
    vegetarian with a lot of sugar! I have a sweet tooth. Plus 2 coffees per day. No alchohol.

  • Supplements:
    Zinc, Selenium (just started), fish oil

  • Relevant Medical History:
    adenomyosis and endometriosis

  • Present Medication or Drug Usage:
    medication for hypothyroid

  • State of Mind:

  • Limitations:
    will find out

  • Questions:
    Will fasting help with endometriosis ? Am I likely to have any particular symptoms I need to watch for? I can't get other supplements easily here : is there any juice I should particularly use to help the detox?

    Hi Lora,
    A juice fast will reduce the pain and it could cure the condition. Any juice will work so find what you like and can afford. You may suffer headaches coming off the coffee.

    Yep have now got raging headaches. Drinking lots of water. Hopefully this will go within a couple of days.

    I am on day 11, and the headaches are almost gone. My mouth tastes of metal. My skin is clear, and I am started to feel mentally clear, and my energy is starting to pick up (have been very tired the last couple of days). I think I have almost gone through the worst part of the detox.

    Hi Tom, thanks for all the encouragement. My mouth has been feeling very metallic and I am extremely tired and have been for over a week. My menstrual cycle was pain free, but I wonder if I am anemic. I have not had the ‘highs’ people talk about. Taking spirulina, psyllium husks, zinc, fishoil, started some iron.

    On day 16 I started to break it, with some salad, then fruit and yoghurt this morning, a slice of Pizza (a mistake). I am still drinking juice and lots of water. When i eat everything (except fruit juice) tastes like cardboard.

    Two questions :
    can I immediately restart the fast, or is this now a no-no. What are the impacts?
    why do you think I have not felt as great as teh posts indicate.
